The 6 bushes set me back just shy of £100 in parts. I didn't have the facilities to do the fitting myself, paid for 4 hours of garage labour.

Anyone who has 14-year old rubber bushes on their car should consider replacing them, especially if you're looking to upgrade any other part of the suspension!
I need new shocks first really, Bushes were replaced on mine before i bought the car, Thanks Alistair C

There were a load of Powerflex bushes knocking around at the Garage meet I seem to recall?
I've got Koni shocks on mine. Very good kit IMHO.

I was chucking the S2 round a couple of roundabouts last night just for the sheer hell of it, driving with the biggest schoolboy grin on my face, the joy of S2 ownership is definitely back! I'm really impressed with the balance of the car now with the Konis/H&Rs, new bushes, and the RS2/ Whiteline ARB mod. Brilliant stuff.

Stop talking about modifications! My S2 is standard in the suspension department apart from Billys and I don't want to mod it.....

All you're doing is tempting me to spend money!

Steve, there was a factory recall on the standard springs, Audi recommend that you upgraded with either HR or Koni springs

I posted on this forum about a year ago a post saying "No Mods". I really meant it as well. Everybody laughed at me then. Since then, I've done the following:
                Short Shift kit
                Aero wipers
                HID kit
                Big brakes
                Stud conversion
                Aux-rad removal
                Cone filter
                RS2 FARB/ Whiteline RARB...

And that's all on top of the normal servicing, and of course all the other entertaining upgrades that the S2 has had in previous years

Aah, Twinkle Toes hasn't been updating her diary recently has she?! She's doing well actually, has had a couple of "give it some" moments and really quite enjoyed the power

I think she'll find it a much nicer car to drive now with the transmission shunt gone and the steering tightened up somewhat. I'll ask her to update the forum!

I am getting the HID kit for my birthday! I need some bling lighting to go with my extreme white PIAA side lights....

I am fairly determined to keep my car standardish, as I think if I ever have to sell it (obviously not in my plans at all...) then I will be able to sell it easier if it is standard. I also quite like the fact that it is still standardish. I feel as though these cars are bordering on classic car status and I would like to keep most of it as Audi intended.....

                      (A bit sad I know )

                      Cheers,

I get the impression that there are very few standard S2s left, which is sad in a way, but there you go. HID kit is well worth it.

Nice list, i've ordered a Whiteline RARB 6 week leadtime, they ordered extra Audi 1's for a delivery this week but seems they're all taken.

                          Oh well.

Mine hasn't got standard wheels either, but I figure an HID kit is not going to put off a potential buyer if I ever did have to sell, which after its performance last night with the cat bypass pipes refitted is highly unlikely :touchwoodsmiley:

Good to hear you got it all sorted dan.
I did have similar symptoms as you, pulling all over the road etc.
Fitted 4 new toyos which has transformed the car.

Now i can wear them out at croft on saturday
