    A80 front suspension problem

Hi guys, my brother has been trying to find problem with his A80. It is not super obvious in pictures, but basically if you look at both front tyres, one is sticking out more than the other one or vice versa. Front suspension has been completely refurbished and he did tracking too, but it doesn't seem to work?

When we were changing front subframe bushes we notices there was excessive rust on the subframe, on driver's side, so is it possible it's been bent? Had to be hell of a hit to bend that? Any help is much appreciated

I can't see much from the pictures, but is the camber correct?

It should be, as he's been to tracking twice. But car still pulls to one side Driver's side wheel is outwards more than passenger one.

The second picture clearly shows a lot more camber than the first. I had a similar issue with an old car of mine; try slackening the shock/hub bolts and pulling the hub up and then re-tighten bolts. It may be that these bolts were done up with the hubs sitting at different angles relative to each other
Hopefully an easy fix for you

Shouldn't that be sorted when doing tracking?

That depends on who's doing the tracking.
On lots of cars, including early Audi B3 and older, the camber is not adjustable at all.
I've never seen the guys at my local tyre shop taking a look at it..

I am seeing my brother in couple of weeks, so we'll play around. Is subframe adjustable in any way?

                Subframe is adjustable
                Ball joint is adjustable
                Hub-strut is slightly adjustable
                Tie rod is adjustable

Most £30 tracking places will just adjust the toe via the tie rod adjusters

So ideally all 4 should be used to get tracking on point?

Yup, does he have a print out?

You want an alignment, not tracking.

As an aside IF everything is set up straight the car will pull to the left on a normal cambered road.

Sorry I was meaning alignment. Pulling to the left is a safety thing wasn't it?

Suggestions on good place to go for an alignment around Barnsley?

I find that places that do cheap tracking just make both wheels point in the same direction, nothing more, a proper alignment is more expensive and they should try get everything within spec, and even it out side to side as much as possible.

Most roads are cambered for water runoff, so the car pulls to the left slightly.

I have the same situation on my cabrio but everything works just fine. I notice that before 7-8 years ago and I never manage to solve that problem, now I dont even care.
