Can anyone confirm, do a4 quattro hubs need any sort of machineing when pressed into cq carrier. Also will the bearings remain the same model spec (cq) not a4 rear and s4/s6 rear for front carriers. Got a bit confusing but hope you get it...

For rear brakes i use S8/S4/S6 combo anyways but when i press a4 hubs to CQ/S2 carrier then i dont have to use any shims/spacers on there between the bearing and hub? Somewhere i read it, motorgeek or smth that it doesnt need any spacers if i use different brakes from original cq/s2 ones.1990 2.2 20VT Audi Coupe Quattro

We are talking about front, right?
S2 uses 82mm bearing, A4q hub won't fit there. CQ depends on engine - IIRC 20v coupes also had 82mm (A4q hub wont't fit there too), all others had 75mm bearings on front where A4q hub does fit.
Spacers were needed because A4q hub has different offset, without them brake disk is not centered in caliper. There might be brake disks that won't require spacers but I didn't bother to find that out - I used S2 brake setup as that's best I can pass MOT legally anyway.

We were talking about rear. In the front i use S4/S6 C4 hubs. I only wanted to know is somekind of machining needed on the rear with a4q hubs and will the bearing stay the same. But thanks i got the answer i needed from you!1990 2.2 20VT Audi Coupe Quattro
