Just wondering if I can use a generic power steering hose to replace one that I think is leaking?
By way of background its for use on an ABY. I am referring to the hose that runs between the reservoir and the ribbed metal pipe that I think cools the fluid. The metal pipe runs infront of the main radiator.
As its a straight piece of hose, my thoughts are to use a piece of hose for power steering applications. I just wondered if there is anything to be aware of? One particular question that sprung to mind - is the Audi power steering fluid (G004000) going to cause problem with a hose made of NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber)?
Any thoughts appreciated.
