    KW coilover conversion

I didn't have much luck searching by phone app for good threads of info on this subject so apologies if I am going over old ground.

My memory is that KW dealers need the original struts to be exchanged but maybe this is no longer the case. Certainly looking at some pics the KW struts look rather different for the S2.

What is difference between v1-v2-v3 kits and do I understand right there is a choice of spring ratings for cars over or above a certain weight ?

Do they connect to OE link rods for the ARBs ?

Do they come with choice of hub carrier fitments at M12 or M14 ?

If I don't need my old struts etc then I will get them blasted and painted for someone else doing an OE rebuild.

V2 were the old strut conversions and no longer available.

V1 & V3 are stainless & composite and are a direct swap for the OEM strut inc ARB tabs etc.
    V1 are fixed rate damping
    V3 are two way adjustable.

    M12 & M14 are options
There are two spring rate options for the front axle - 600n or 700n depending on front axle weight +/- 950Kg

      Alex - star man... Thanks.
I wondered if I was going mad about the exchange / conversion option.

I am looking at V3 then... Really hoping to be under 950kg on mine but that's detail for another day.

Granted, not an S2, but my KW V1s were a straight purchase, no exchange, M14 bolts, the damping is great as stock but only stiffen more the lower you go, I am weighing up V3s and Gaz Golds at the moment for the track slag, look forward to seeing how you get on with them. Based on my V1 experience I'd say the V3s would probably be mega

Spring rates are 60N F&R or 70N F & 60N Rwith the high load option. I have swapped my springs so run 60F and 70R

I got the kw v3 S2 setup for my urq from Albert akmotorsport. Did me a great deal. Kit seems great quality and first few blasts up the road seem a very compliant well controlled setup without even adjusting anything.

Cool - did you go for the 600N springs F&R on yours ?

Yep. Springs are fairly cheep so just needed something to get started with and play. I got loads of suspension stuff from akmotorsport Inc fabricated arms and rose joints etc. Depends how far you want to go.

There is a great portfolio of parts on Alberts site - reckon I will be keeping it fairly sensible.

For the record - Alberts site says the springs are rated at 67N/mm while the stiffer front option is 86N/mm.

I am doing my best to put as much possible info on the website. If anyone would need more information I can get it directly from KW.

                          That must be V3 then. The coupe V1s are 100% 60n / 70n as I detailed above

Did you swap the fronts for comfort or any other specific reason?
