    Rear diff bush question.

Just before Christmas I felt a couple of small clunks from the back end and then nothing for ages. A few days later I got a feeling that one back wheel was being loaded before the other, mainly on left hand pull outs from junctions.

I managed to get it on the ramp at my mates garage whilst he was between jobs and the only thing I could find was play in the diff bushes, the whole car suspension was polybushed by Chris M before I got it so I was confident there.

The bushes with play were the ones in the alloy frame attached to the back of the diff and the one at the front nearest the propshaft. Naively I thought these would be easy to source so I didn't take any pictures and I can't get it back on the ramp until Jan 10th to have another look.

Does anyone know the part numbers for these and if they are sill available? Also is there a fast road upgrade for these?

TIA and a Happy New Year!

Did you check the drive shafts cv joints for play? Bushes would have to be well worn to cause clonking noises but it sounds odd about one wheel loading before the other... Maybe cv joint failing and allowing one shaft a rotational head start on the other?

All shafts checked Steve. The offside diff bush is definitely goosed, the near side is obscured by the exhaust but moves more than I would like with a heel bar. There was also front to back movement so I reckon the front bush is on its way out.

The offside bush was definitely worse than the nearside so I think the diff might have been yawing slightly.

The rear one is available from powerflex and is easy to find on ebay.

There are also poly options for the other 2 aswell but i suppose it depends on how harsh you want it to be.
