Electric steering pump

Has anyone got any good info, tips? Maybe someone even uses it right now.
Talking about MR2 electric pump for steering rack, heard that porsche ones are used aswell but the price is probably off the roof...
Anyways any good usefull info would be welcome.

PS: i have the webpage info from a topic here but maybe some pictures and info using the kit on cq/s2.

i use an elek pump from opel astra f without problems for now on my coupe quattro typ85
cheap also and not hard to find

i believe "v6quattro" here on the forum have had a powersteeringpump from a mr2 on his car
he has now converted to an elektric steeringcolum from a opel corsa

Steeringrack change is the last thing right now, i would like to change.

no
just made a decent bracket and place it in the car
connect the 2 hydraulic hoses to the powersteering
elek connection: 2 big powerlines +/- (fuse 80A)
1 wire to +15 (power after contact "on"
1 wire to d+ alternator
1 wire for fauty codes (not needed)

How is using it on traffic? Any side effects? Rack is oiled enough?

well
I do feel that the origionele pump is slightly more powerful than the electric servo pump
but it's powerfull enough for steering when the car stands still.
if you put contact on,the pump do nothing
if i start the car,the pumps run freely,if you steer you here the pump working with more pressure

That should be 10v pump. S2 has 100 bar pump. But ok, there isnt other way than try it out. (:

I ran an MR2 pump on my V8 converted coupe. It was a pretty good solution actually. If I had it to do over again I would have put in a kill switch for when the car was sitting with the ignition on and not running.

If you do an MR2 pump use a later version with the reservoir.
