I only have experience with the old style mr2 pump withs wasn't very powerful when parking and made lots of noise. I suggest to use a pump from the mk3 mr2

Fully electrical isn't the way i would like to go right now since i had full renovation done with steeringrack. Anyways V6quattro you mentioned that you have old style pump, mk1 or mk2?
And if i understand correctly then mk3 pump with own reservour is more instalatsion frendly since the original audi reservour is quite bad location when using the new electrical pump right? Or is there any other particular reason?

I used the MK2 pump mounted below the rear seat.

By making sound you mean whining i guess? Actualy the original pump i have right now makes also noise and i realy need the space under the hood. I think i will try it out and see how good/bad the idea is. Power supply is one from alternator and one from battery and then ground?

PS: what oil do you use in electronic pump? ATF? Toyota special? How does the original rack function when not using original green mineral fluid. Specialy when you already have driven with the original fluid for a while.
