B4 sedan quattro. Rear custom coilover.

    Hello

Seems like Bilstein and Koni dampers don't work well with 8kg/mm+ spring rates, I'm forced to find another solution. Have been asking different companies for b5 rear coils only, and the price they ask is only little cheaper than full set. So it seems I have to build myself a set.

There has been quite a lot of talk about making them yourself. But I havent seen anyone use universal coilover dampers. For example GAZ and AVO make them. They can be ordered in different length and settings. Has anyone got any experience?

They should work with some trimming and spacers. These are pieced together from Ohlins LMJ parts (as far as I can tell).

Yes this is probably the easiest way. I was hoping to make it work without cutting. Basically I need upper spring perch, that would seat racing spring nicely. But yeah it is impossible to find something like that. Maybe someone knows where to get one.

Edit: Saw in one thread Bambridge made weldable spring perch. So can use 2.5 id racing springs. Think maybe this would be the right way to go.
