    Rear Avant track rods,2 types??

Can anybody confirm this.Needed to change out my rear track rods and was going to fit some spair ones I had in the parts bin, which I am sure I pulled off an avant I helped break for someone. But when I went to fit them I discovered that the ones I had were a little longer than the one I have on the car at the moment.
Question is are there two lengths for different year cars or as I have been told that there is one standard length????

I believe the longer ones are from a B5 chassis A4.

This would explain alot, as other threads suggest they are the same part on the B5 A4. I used the ECP link as advised to get new ones.

My RS2 is back rolling and there is significant rear toe in which i can only see as being a tie rod that is too long... i will have to measure them against the old ones.

The ECP part: B5 S4 Tie Rod (too long!)

EDIT: Just saw your 'for sale' thread Mark, yep those are the Lemforder ones I have, all set with Bambridge bushes and fitted nicely yeterday. Except now the car runs 10deg of toe out

Nightmare. When i removed the old one the inner bushing fell out of it. I then had the indignity of having to reinstall it when i discovered the new one was the wrong part
