Alloy Top Mounts

Installed a set of alloy top mounts yesterday, very nicely made piece of kit. Install was very straight forward, didn’t encounter any issues at all.

First impressions are great, as some have said the steering is lighter but much more precise. On turn in the outside front wheel seems to load up instantly and feels much more joined on. I also noticed that coming on/off the power mid bend doesn’t change its line as drastically as it used to.

Slow speed around 30mph over bumpy roads there is a little more vibration in the car, it feels like the shocks are stiffer so I guess its just them working sooner not having the little bit of rubber cushion with the stock mounts. Not enough to be irritating so it doesn’t bother me at all.

An "A" list upgrade IMO

They look like the QRS top mounts. Nice looking bit of kit there. I would love a set, but cant afford them at the moment.

No you weren't mate, originally they were red, but now they are blue.

I'm buying a set of blue ones from Alistair, just got too get up the bank to do a Bacs.

MACANDMAR Any Starnge noise with those.
I have a set of those QRS and evry time I get on big sharp bump I have a big "CLONCK" noise

I've changed every thing bushes, tie rod, droplink, ARB bushes, Lower CV joint, Bilstein
The only thing that I din't change is the spring could it be those?
I was also thinking of changing the gearbox bracket (bushes)

What kind of clonk noise. Is it a twang, like a spring, or does it sound more solid? Is it as the suspension goes light, coming off the bump, or is it as it hits the bump?
Who fitted the mounts?

Give some more info and maybe someone can make a suggestion as to what it might be.
