I have Bilsteins on my Coupe with standard springs and it is perfect if a little soft when REALLY pushing on, but that suits me fine.

Hi All!
I’m from Germany and new to this forum. My first posts haven’t been very amazing up to know :-( so I try to do it better.
I was in need for new shock absorbers for the rear axle of my ’93 S2 Avant. From what I got up to now, there’s not much choice. Here’s what I’ve found:
KONI 8210-1160Sport
Bilstein N/A
NK (NNordjysk Kobling) N/A
LIP (Quinton Hazell) N/A

Bilstein are the most preferred and beloved shocks all around, never heard something bad. If I use Bilstein‘s I‘ll have to go the hard way like posted before by „http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7177“
..and I expect trouble with the german TÜV (MOT, if you really haven’t known..)
KONI looks expensive for me (200€ each), and maybe not worth the double price.
190€ for a replacement from my local Audi stealer, the friendly man didn’t know the manufacturer of the shock.
In the middle there’s Monroe, affordable (90€ each) and not that bad from what I hear.
So I finally got two Monroe E2010 and it was an easy fit. I was surprised to see that Monroe’s (Gas) have been in (never heard of Monroe’s in this forum..)
If you ask how stiff... I really can’t say, it feels like a good harmonic replacement.
This way I saved 200€ - for the brakes :-)
