    Konis and H&R Springs

Ok, Ive decided to get the suspension upgraded. I know a few of you here have this combo, where did u get them from?
I emailed AMD yesterday and apparently they no longer work on Audi S2's. Advised me to go to QST, but they charge £555 and you gotta whack VAT on top of that too.

    Hi,

I bought the H&R springs from AMD for £237 inc vat and shipping.

Try Camerley Autofactors in Farnborough for Koni prices as they are the main distributor in the UK. Maybe you know someone in the trade with a card for them and you'll be able to get 10-15% off retail then.

AMD not dealing with s2's.....just goes to show that unless you can ctrl-alt-del these days to fix most problems the garages are less interested in servicing.

    Cheers,

    David

The Koni/H&R system on my car was installed by Kim Collins at QST.

You won't be disappointed, it's a great setup.

I found that QST were the cheapest for the knois/H&R setup - strange but true :wacked:

You'll be putting blueys on the front and greenies on the back at the same time won't you?

And poly bushes might be a good idea at the same time.

I'm very happy with this setup - if you aren't going to play around with shocks it might be worth getting the non-adjustable ones - should be cheaper.

            guys thanks for the replies.

Doug Greenies and Blueys?? What are they then? Did u get QST to ship u the koni/hr kit and get it fitted esle where?

I had someone sit in the car and experience the slight knocking sound over bumpy roads. He thinks it could be wishbone/wishbone bushes? The car seems edgey and seems to nose dive alot when braking even at moderate speeds.

Just sent an email to QSt. Will await to see thier response.

Greenies are standard top strut mounts - that will be fine for the rear. Blueys are the uprated ones - needed on the front - get these from vagparts.

I got all the parts sent to me and did it all myself.

Sounds like it's time for polys as well - if they haven't been done before, it's time at 120k to do them - Mine were shot at 110k.

How much for that stuff if you fit yourself?

Cos want to sort suspension out on mine, but should be able to fit fine myself have done it a number of times on Dubs before so shouldnt be difficult

Kim Collins down there is a really nice chap, he's got some awesome Audis in there, well worth a nose round if you can. Also their courtesy cars are quite a laugh too - an Audi V8, and an S2 Avant amongst others. Must cost him a fortune in insurance for that fleet!

My front strut mounts are on the way out, and the front ARB is worn too, so will need to get round to replacing them at some point. Of course will insert upgraded parts...

Must cost customers a fortune in labour overhead to keep thet fleet running.

where have you got your H&R's from? want to get some for mine.

Have you got powerflex bushes? if you have make sure they are the latest design because they have just been changed again to stop the squeaking problem ive been having.

Also i fitted blue's on the back as well as front so keeps everything quite torte.

The greennies I took off the rear were still solid, I just replaced them with greenies - I wouuldn't worry about having to put blueys on - hardly any weight on the rear compared to the front.

What is the latest design? Mine were the black with teh inner sleeve had a groove in it - squeaked the first day but never squeaked since.

Greg - Everything is being supplied by QST. I dont know about the manufacturer of the bushes.

I'm going bus it to work the rest of the week and next. The car is defintely not happy as it is, and I dont wanna do any damage to it. That coupled with the huge whooshing sound it lets off on every gear change even at 2200k rpm.
