    Rear 16mm ARB fitted

So, I fitted my 16mm RARB last sunday. It took me 17minutes (yep, the truth...) and by saying that, I'm saying it's a pretty straight forward deal.

Driving impressions? Car is equppied with stock 26mm front ARB. The car seems much more responsive to lift off. Body roll has also decreased. Steering feels more confident. All this means it's better balanced than it was before.

However, now I feel like traction is limiting me - I need a rear LSD.

Mod set me back €80 and I got a spare set of rear droplinks...

17 minutes? Nice work, I guess you had it up on a ramp and not squeezing around on the pavement like I did!
How does that compare thickness-wise to the Whiteline RARB?

Did you get this manufactured yourself, or if not where did you buy it from? I know that quite a lot of people here are interested in replacement ARBS - especially for the front as the RS2 FARB is proving hard to come buy at the moment?
Ex S2 owner, now running around in an A4 Avant quattro...

He he, no, actually on the garage floor just lifted up about half a meter. It's really easy to do it, I mean, just remove the wheels and it's right in your face. I thought it would be a PITA to get it out, you know it wraps around the ex pipe - and eventhough I have a 3" system it went like a breeze.

I believe the Whiteline is 19mm and this one is just a RS2 bar (I have a Avant!) that is a measly 16mm. But it was cheap and since I didn't want to beef up the front...well the stock one is 12mm so this one is deffinantly stiffer!

You can fit the Whiteline ARB to an Ur quattro, but you will have to make provisions for the new bar mounting the same way as the fronts. Remember that early Urq had rear bars anyway. I personally would not advise the Whiteline bar for the Ur unless you are using it for track days (a lot). You should be able to find a narrower bar from the early Audi 80 front or even S2 Coupe rear.

Ok so a stock s2 rear should fit the rear of the UR? I will need to weld brackets to the subframe etc? Thanks, des.
