Track rod ends - help needed to identify correct ones

Recently bought some track rod ends for the front of my 94 ABY coupe mail order and went to fit them on the car this Saturday. The ball and socket section is a smaller diameter by around 10 to 15mm and the male threaded section has a fine thread on it (M10x1.25).

The part number I have on the receipt is 811 419 812A (they are genuine parts)

Identifying marks on the parts are manufaturer number 020 000 011 012 03012, 104331.2-4 and 214 on the base of the ball socket next to the VW and Audi logos.

Can someone please identify the correct part number for me and if you've got a genuine part handy let me know what numbers it should have on it.
    Cheers'en, AndyC

Looks like the part no you have is correct, maybe the part isn't.

      Just what I was thinking.

The thread is actually an M10x1...

I've done a particulary poor drawing of it...

        Def the correct part number.
And i fitted 2 of these to my car a couple of weeks ago without any problem, so sounds like you may have incorrect parts.

          @ S2Ant.

Any chance of measuring them when you get a chance. Would be interested to see what the overall dimensions are.

          Cheers

Thats what's my new ones have. It appears that I may have the correct parts, even though they are different to what I have on the car at the moment. If others have fitted simillar without problems then I'm happy to do so. I just don't like replacing parts with slightly different ones just in case thet're wrong! Especially on a car of the weight and power of an S2.

My new track rod ends are the same Andy. Did you get new nyloc nuts with them? I didn't.

Nor me. Seems like German efficiency has sought to lighten the S2 by reducing the mass of the ball joints!!

You're right there. The old track rod ends are 250g and the new ones are 200g. That's a total of 100g removed from the car. Bonus!
I'm not sure of the saving on using a finer pitch nut though.

I remember the set i bought for my car fitted fine but were a bit smaller. The originals did look the better made part.

Just a thought, they might provide more room for wider tyres, 235 or 245s?
