As the title says, will an RS2 rear diff fit on my 3b coupe? I'm looking for a straight swap but not sure. I guess the rear subframes are different but is the casing the same?
... But the RS2 rear diff can be fitted into the S2 Coupe casing, but why would you want to do this? The RS2 item is no stronger than an S2 one, and the ratios are the same @ 4.11:1.

Yep - same internals here on 3B, ABY and ADU rear diffs.
The Avant diffs are in a much longer casing cos of the different layout at the Avant rear end.

Yeah, but if you unbolt the front housing on the RS2 rear end, it's pretty much the same as the coupe Make a new back cover that has the coupe type mounting and you are nearly there ......
... I understand CQ, but what benefits are there in doing that? It's actually a conversion for no gain whatsoever.
No benefits at all. It's just possible, but not something you want to do
Best bet is to get a CQ diff and move over the S2 flanges. (the CQ has propably had a easier life )
