    Missing part on Linkage...

Ok, had a play around with my linkage stuff this evening and in the pic below, on the top stud, you can see part of the linkage going over it, that part has a plastic insert that makes the linkage part meet up to the stud with no movement.

I need this bit, or to get something that will do the same thing, because at the moment its all floppy, it will get gears but its all over the place.

Its not listed on the family album, so im hoping that someone can help in a different way, would a similar part be used on other Audi linkages, so i could source it from another audi???

The parts i need arent listed on ETKA at all.

Its a black piece of plastic that has 4 prongs coming down from it and it slots in to that bracket that helps it mate up to the stud with no movement, its then meant to have a piece of rubber that goes over the top and goes over that lip on the bracket.

Its kinda hard to explain and i stupidly forgot to take a picture of it when i took it all off last night.

Its only on the top stud that im looking at, the circle is there from a previous post i had made so ignore that

            audi describe it as washer

Definately isn't an item that has it's own part number. Looks like it is supplied with the main selector shaft..ouch, big bucks! You could probably get something fabricated out of nylon or somthing similar. Has the part worn or broken? You could use it as a pattern for another. The linkage I have is pretty worn too, I'll have a look at what's left of the same part on mine.

There is a black plastic sleeve that slides down the stud and clips in to place, then a rubber piece goes over the outer lip.

There is one of these lil things on each side of it, so as to stop any movement of that bracket on the stud, ive lost one side ages ago when i had it apart to do the clutch slave cylinder.

It must come with the selector which, as you say is very expensive, i was hoping that the same part is used on other audi selectors, which will hopefully make it easier to come by.

I'll take it apart again this evening and get some pics.

Its kinda like a 4 legged table with the collar at the top, the legs are tapered, getting wider at the top where the collar is.

Martin, do you mean that yours simply doesnt use them or you have a spare that you are looking on and it doesnt have them there? As im just wondering how yours is held in place?

I'll try to get a pic up later, but i have all the parts for the 6sp conversion on the floor and can't see anything matching your description.

Ok thanks Martin, with the bits you have.... the part of the linkage that goes on to that last stud that you can see in the top of my pic, if you put a stud thru that it will have play and be very very sloppy to the point you might not be able to get gears.

These bits are there to stop that, it might be that the rubber bit that goes over that lip is covering the part i mean

Ive updated the pic and circled in green the bit i mean.

The stud is part of the gearbox, the bracket over it etc is the linkage.

Ant, yeah i know what you mean now, heres a pic of what i have, looks just the same as yours is.
Has this part always been missing on yours?, should it be the same part as no2 arrowed in this pic, ie same at both ends.
                              @steveh, is yours like this.
