What transmission fit 7A/3B?

I am deciding what to do. Can anyone give a specific list of what transmissions bolt in? All Audi 5/6-speeds? What about the guys that do V8 swaps, what transmission there?

all(!!!) trannys will fit in on the engine,but there are some small diff,like flywheel and clutch difference,some trannybrackets and some gearstickvariants.
remember the gearcoding between the to upper bolts.some trannys have 3,889,and some have 4,111 ratio. after 92 the trannys will fit 4,5,6,8 syl engines,petrol,or diesel.

Contemplating a 4.2L swap, and needed to know if my 7A bellhousing matches the bolts of the 4.2L.

3,6 and 4,2 have ONLY 4,111

Going in a 90' CQ, so it should be perfect! I want to keep my 7A tranny for the 4.2L if that is possible.
