    Driveshaft Bolts.

    Guys

I am changing the Hubs on my CQ20V.

The list of things I have so far is

    RS4 wheels ET 35 with 225/40/18
    Hubs (if they arrive today)
    Front Disc (zimmerman Drilled)
    Rear Disc (Brembo)
Front RS2 Calipers, cleaned up and painted Red
    Front Pads
    Rear Pads
16 x Wheel Bolts Radial seat (Audi fitment)
    4 x Locking wheel Bolts

I know that I need driveshaft bolts. Are the S2 ones the same as the CQ20 as I have been told this by Audi that they are????????? WAB thinks they are bigger on the S2

Can anyone confirm this. I want to get the lot done tommorow so need to make sure that I have all the parts.

    Cheers Dudes

I know the fronts are larger than the rears. Good thing is I am getting 3B hubs from a Jreg S2 so hopefully will be the same, especially as the bearing kits are the same item number at GSF. Fingers crossed only time and an undrivable car will tell.

          Cheers Dude

Just had confirmation of the Hubs. Will be arriving today before 5pm.

            Getting closer.

Just need my braided brake lines to turn up now to finish the whole package off in one go (cos the top mounts are being done at the same time.

                no,

you have the hub housing which has the bearing inside,

on each side of this is a circlip,

when putting a new bearing in you press it into the hub housing upto the circlip,
flick the other circlip in, (sometimes there is only one and the bearing pushes upto a face)

then supporting the inner race you press the hub into the bearing,

to disassemble you have to knock the inner race out of the bearing. - this usually ****s the bearing

so unless the hubs come with the hub housing then no you cant use them

                regards
                will (WAB)

                      Hi.

Sorry for thread hijack... what can I say Jamo is a bad influance...

I need some parts replacing, but i dont know their name.

Its the driveshaft from the wheel, to the diff, including the 2 CV joins connected to this driveshaft. I need this on the front and back. 4 driveshafts in total and 8 cv joins.

I was told I can get a complete unit (4 units) with the CV joins on them, and ... I was told they can be from a A4 which would be cheaper, is this true?

When I changed out the hub carriers, I just used the same size bolts for the axles, that came on a coupe. New bolts, but same size. No problems.

Not all the hub carriers have circlips, so if it doesn't have them don't worry about. Neither my coupe nor the ABY hub carriers, I put on had circlips. Depends on the build date.

If you do have circlips, be careful when you insert the new bearing. You just want to snug up to the circlip, if you force it too much you can distort the circlip.
