Better gearbox for 3B

I'm currently in search for stronger gearbox for my 3B.

As read from forum topics there are :

EDU and DSY gearboxes that will fit ?!?

Which one is better , and maybe anyone know what parts required to fit them ?

And maybe anyone have one for sale in good condition

AFAIK the S4/RS4 gearbox's fit but dont have the connection for PROCON Ten

Any 01E quattro box should bolt up to the 3B engine, but you might need different clutch components if the input splines are different. Not sure about propshaft lengths either. Suspect you won't know until you try - unless you get lucky with someone who can give you dimensions.

I'm also pretty sure the neu S4/S6 boxes you mention run with oil coolers - which is something else you'll need to factor in.

Less hassle might be an 016 box - with lockable centre diff - from an old UR or 200TQ. That bolts up a treat to the 3B AFAIK.

Alternatively a late CGR or CRB should be fine - its stronger than the 01A for sure.

Make sure to check gear ratios on the EDU/DSY boxes - some have funky ratios and not all of them have the required 4.11 F/R.

Paul, do you know which 200tq fits to 3B and is also stronger? I know there are many different 200tq's
