I've had a chat with Tom regarding this issue recently.. after all if anyone knows what 3B parts are capable of it's him... he advised that when I go for RS2 spec, the clutchnet clutch is probably the best option. That's the route I'm taking anyway; teh uprated job is OK but not the best aparrently.
Depends on the condition of the 3B clutch and pressure plate........kinda hard to say if it will slip or not. If you go above RS2 specs (350-370 hp) i would go for something upgraded. I bought a slightly used Sachs Race Engineering sinter clutch with pressure plate
2003 VW Passat Highline 130 TDI wagon with ALL options.
My RS2 setup easily slips the OE, Sachs uprated and Precision clutch units. The Clutchnet unit seems to be the best so far, however, the first unit I've tried hasn't lasted too long. Clutchnet units are also good value. Try Aelred, he's ordering some at the moment..
What material do you use? I dont know what the difference is between the following
Kevlar clutch disc with sprung hub for Audi Coupe Quattro
Fiber Carbon clutch disc with sprung hub for Audi Coupe Quattro
Organic clutch disc with sprung hub for Audi Coupe Quattro
And they list as fitting an : Audi Coupe Quattro 1991-90 2.3L 5 Cylinder , isnt that a 7A engine US spec coupe, i dont see any S2 listings on there site
@Steve: Whos Aelred?
Thanks,
Mark.

I have the fibre carbon disk, it's lined with fibre carbon on the flywheel facing surface and what looks like a sintered ceramic on the pressure plate side. Ignore the website, they're experiencing a few problems supplying the correct pressure plates for the 3B. Aelred is a member of this forum, do a search on his name. He can advise you on cost & timescales...HTH

How do you find the sintered plate in traffic? I do a daily commute into the city each day, for that reason I ruled out sintered plates because I've been told they are ON and OFF. I also thought they had a very short lifespan.
Cheers,
Steve
