Audi Short Ratio FWD Transaxle

Hi, can someone help me! I am searching for a Short Audi FWD Transaxle (Cars with FWD and longtidualy placed engines - No Quattro)!

It should be as short as posible (But it must handle some Torque!)

all audi 5/6 sylinder will fit in,same boltpattern.what ratio do you want?? have sutch at home ,but the freightcost are BAD......i live in norway......!

What is the Type of your gearbox! I am searching for a Gearbox with a Very Short Ratio! The Bolt Pattern is not a Problem! I can make an Adapter Plate!

After A little search i have found out that the Shorter FWD transmission (i could found) was the 016 AMM or AMN!

The Question now is (i dont have a clue about gearboxes) can someone change gears between 016 boxes?? I mean the 2. Gear out of a 016 with o Lower Final drive into one with a Higher??

think all 016 trannys fwd will fit. but 4,77 ratio??? hmm.it mean it will be easy to find sutch tranny in old audi 100/200 from 86-89.......or some 5000 models too.does you not have the yard in your place???? the trannys does NOT have lsd or thorsen in the finals,but some of the porsche parts,may fit in......maybe

Do you have a list or so with all 016 or 0E1 FWD gearboxes and their Ratios??

Can someone tell me if the Gears between these two boxes are interchangeable??

016 Serial Number prefix APT 3.60 2.12 1.46 1.02 0.85 3.50 3.89
016 Serial Number prefix AMM 3.60 1.88 1.19 0.84 0.68 3.50 4.77

I would like to change in the AMM Gearbox the 2. 3. 4. 5. with the APT ones! Is it possible?? What must i buy in order to do this?? Or Otherwise change the Ring and Pinion from an AMM into the APT one!

i think the change of pinion and ring are the easyest way,and the 016 parts are interchangebar........the partnr in familiealbum cant tell about this.....sorry for that

No it is OK! Thing is you did your best to help me! I think i will try to source 2 boxes 1 good one defect and try to mix the R&P's!
