  • Rear driveshaft removal

    Hi all i was wondering after removing all the bolts that hold in the rear driveshaft to the diff is there anyhting else that holds it in?

    Apart from the hub end bolt, no. Once the 6 splined bolts are out, the inner CV should remove from the diff. Might need some gentle persuasion

      Cheers for that Mike this is why i needed it off. By the way we never did manage to get it off it seems to be stuck solid we just had to take the outer joint off and leave the shaft where it is.

        Ouch - that doesn't look pleasant!

        I found to get the drive shaft out, that once you have the 6 bolts on the inner CV joint undone it should move around a bit. Perhaps a light tap with a mallet. You may find you need to drop the lower control arm at the ball joint to allow the strut movement outwards to let the inner cv joint clear the diff flange.
