question about diffs

Is the 1990 COUPE 2.3 10V the same as the S2 diff? i should imagine that they are all the same.

The only differences is the flanges. Your 10v has either 90mm or 100 flanges and the S2 has 108mm flanges.

nope. the housing arent the same ether. but the same cron and pinjon....and same ratio 4,111

What? Even the rear diff of my Audi 80 Quattro was the same as the S2 Coupe. Caterpillar - you must mean the S2 Sedan/Avant - that one's got a snout on it so it's not the same. Older coupe's had the mounts integrated in the housing but this coupe shouldn't have that - so the housings should be the same.

Greg is right. The only difference is the flanges and you can swap those.
All 5 cyl t89q cars have the 4.11 diffs and only difference is the mentioned one.

I can verify this - saw it when martinjs swapped his S2 rear diff for one from a CQ20V - internals are the same. Only difference is the driveshaft flanges which can be easily transferred.
