    911-> 2.7TT swap

    Hello! Moving fast for completing my 20VT project , I'm thinking of new project for this winter. I was very interested in one of posts made here in s2forum by guy from Norway putting 2.2T into 911 chassis....also I don't understand none of word written in Norwegian ... maybe Henka might be useful?

    I might be interested going the same way <73 911 with 993 bodykit, but with Audi 2.7TT instead of 3B/ABY. What I am thinking now is, what to do with the transmission? As far as I understand, there is FWD 01E transmissions found in 100/V8/A8 that might be mated w/o probs to the 2.7T and useful in the upcoming project , only what to do to make the conversion easier? How can one make the 01E working opposite? Or is it really possible (like swapping the differential or moving the whole transmission upside down) at all or just thinking of joining the 2.7TT with Porsche 915 or G50 transmissions with some kind of adapter like 911 V8 guys have done it hundred of times? My idea is placing the engine in the rear (transmission facing toward the front of the car) not in the middle like the Guy from Norway is going to. Every ideas

    Ey. That is Swedish and not Norwegian. The sad thing is that he sold the project before it was completed and bought a Supra. =(

        His e-mail adress is to be found on that rejsa.nu page... hamster_b@hotmail.com . He also has a homepage where the e-mailadress is, http://www.monoracing.se/ .

        I think it was sold in pieces... The chassi to one dude and engine and so to someone else. But I'm not certain.

          You can use an Porsche gearbox with an adapterplate, or use the Audi FWD gearbox Upsidedown. So that the plug for emptying the Gearbox will be up.

          Some people using this in order to mount porsche gearboxes in the Rear in Mid-Engined Cars.

          I dont know how good is this for the Lubrication of the Gearbox.

              The most of the in these american Cars have mid mounted engines. So you have Driver-Engine-Gearbox. You must make an adapterplate yourself.

              In this case we have used an Opel Engine with audi Gearbox (mid-Engined) and an Adapterplate without problems.

              I dont pages with V8 US cars. You must serch on the Net but most of them are also mid-engined.
