Hi does anyone know if its possible to fit the quattro rear end to a fwd 80 avant?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Short answer, no. The rear floor will have to be extensively reworked to accept a rear differential, as well as the subframe. You'll also need a quattro exhaust system, fuel tank, torsen 5 speed box, propshaft in addition to the rear differential and subframe assembly.
Add to this little lot, rear suspension complete, driveshafts, bearing carriers, rear hubs, calipers, handbrake cables etc.
A lot of welding involved too! Easier to buy an Avant quattro shell, and take it from there. I have a 1993 Avant S2 shell, complete with all the rear drivetrain components, as well as a 6 speed box, if you're interested.
