    Strange clutch problem

    Hey all

Well my problem started a couple of weeks ago.

The clutch doesn't grip like before and the clutch pedal has to be all the way out before it's fully disengaged.

When I got my car I had to have the revs over 1500 when starting from a stop or the whole car would shake like crazy (sinter clutch). Well now the car will only "shakes" if I have it at 900 RPM and release the clutch slowly.

When cruising along in 5th gear, and barley tapping the clutch it will disengage. It was never like this before.

Today I started the car, tried to put it into all of the gears. Stomped on the clutch many times as well, but it wouldn't let me put it into any gears other that 5th. Tried it an hour later and it worked fine.

The clutch now feels like a "normal" car. I have also noticed that it's not as fast as before (clutch not gripping 100%)?

It's an Audi 100 QT, with S2 engine (3b), 5 speed gearbox, hydrolic clutch, sinter 6 "plates" clutch, sachs clutch plate.

    Thanks for the help/suggestions,
    Vilhelm

Your clutch friction plate may have worn out! Sintered units don't last long, how many miles has it done?

No idea man. The guy I bought it from said he bought it a year and a half ago. He also told me that the guy at the shop said it would not be worn out anytime soon, so he thought it was really strange that the sinter was worn out.

So you don't think it's anything with the hydraulics?
