    Rear Diff oil seals

Output shaft oil seals mine have gone (sorry about poor pics, off my phone)

How hard are they to swap ?

Can the shafts be left on and just moved to the side ?

Could it be done in 4 hours ?

What oil to use (from gsf if poss) and how much ?

Dose any body have part numbers for the seals and output flange centre bolts ?

Do I ask to many questions ?

    Cheers

    Hi Rich,

    Part numbers are:

    bolt x 2: 088 409 359
    oil seal: 016 409 399 B
    oil seal: 017 525 400 A

They're all available as I bought mine last week to change on a spare diff for my Urq (they are the same parts) I took me about an hour, although mine wasn't on the car and they were easy to change. You'll need the sealing paste for the oil filler side which is £36 for 100ml from Audi, let me have an address and I'll send you the rest of the tube I've got. Try to get the filler plug and drain plug out without rounding them out as Audi only supply new plugs which you need a triple square socket bit for ( which you won't find in a motor factors.

    Cheers Andy e

Ill spray the plugs with the old WD40 on a daily basis between now and the day there swapped.
