    Rear diff leak update

Had her upon the ramps today.

Drivers side output flange seal is defiantly weeping but is was when investigating passenger side things got interesting.

No leak from output flange seal but from diff lock actuator.

this is the broken clip which you can see around the rubber boot.

Is there a part number for this clip or will a generic on do the job ?

Cable tie round it at the moment

On the plus side both fill and drain plug can be undone.

Not changing the oil till leaks are fixed so just toped it up for now.

    Comments welcome

Normal clip will work. Or the cable tie , some of my lazy friends uses cable ties for their driveshaft rubber thingys (don't know the english word)

check the rubber coming from the actuator for leaks. It's not that hard to change. That could be why it's leaking.

Ive seen the cable tie cv boot arrangement

Looks like ill have to remove the "filler plug" side drive shaft to replace the seal.
I read on the coupe you can just move the shaft to the side, you can't do that on the avant

You can put the shaft up against the body or the undercarriage, just use a few of your cable ties to hold it up in place. I've done it lots of times. Or just a piece of string, or a helpful friend .. etc etc
