It must have something with cooling the rear diff or ? Where does the 2 or 3 rubber hoses goes that comes from inside the above the shaft ? Function ?

That is the vacuum operated diff lock. There are only 2 connections in the plastic body where the hoses push on. Can't find the picture I have showing which way round they go though. One has a yellow stripe on it, the other has blue stripe in it. -
Found it. Blue one on the connection closest to the diff body
