01e transmission on Audi Coupè

I have a Audi Coupè quattro 2.0 20v 160hp (code NM) year 1989 with 01a transmission ( I think ). Now I bought an AAN engine with his transmission 01e 5 gears (CET) from an audi S6 year 1995. Which subframe should I buy to mount the gearbox on Coupè ?

You can use the standard subframe, but you have to use a spacer under on of the mounts. I belive this has been covered alot of times on the forum. Try the search function.

I had read this on a forum:
"You'll need new mounts, neither the 01E mounts nor the 01A mounts will work. You can use OEM RS2 mounts, but they are quite hard to find and quite expensive. Luckily, a number of people now sell replica RS2 transmission mounts. Keep in mind the RS2 was a b4, not a b3, which means it had a different subframe. If you want to use RS2 mounts on a b3, you need to use 40mm spacers on one mount, other than that, they are a direct fit."

but they were talking about the 01e 6 speed on B3, I don't know if there is any difference with the 01e 5 speed

The difference is one less gear.
