    CV joint centre bolt

    Hi all

Ive replaced my cv joints before and had no problems, but recently the boot split and i left it too long and most of the grease has come out so im gonna replace them again before my MOT. Just had a look at the hub and since its been to audi for new wheel bearings they have replaced the centre hub bolt with one that has a hex/allen key type head rather than your regular bolt which it used to have. Anyone know the correct size hex bolt i should get to remove this? its quite large and i dont know if ive seen any for sale that big.

    cheers

If you are stuck, find a spare wheel bolt, cut the hex part of and slot half into bolt and 17mm socket.

Look for a set of sump plug keys. Halfrauds do them.

            Cheers guys great help

I saw those sump plug keys yesterday Stu and wondered if any of them would fit. I'll get them first as they are always handy to have.
