Well im guessing low manufacturing numbers.
This is a custom gearkit after all. If you look at PPG gearsets and alike they are usually made in pretty big numbers.
VS motor has a version to though. That is 97500 NOK wich would translate to about 12500 eur.
that also requires new clutch with chevy splines so you would probably have to make a custom clutchplate to on top of that.

Sellholm in sweden also has an alternative but that requires totaly new gearbox mounts as their variant is pretty similar to the skyline layout. This would again require a fair bit of fabrication. Similar price as VS motor variant.

As things are now SQS seems to be the best alternative.

Sparx.. How did you find the SQS Box on the Porsche. Detailed info please.
My local gearbox builder charges almost twice the amount of labour to build up the 6 speed audi 01E box's compared to the VW 02M ones. So there is probably a big difference in the component requirement, asides from which much more demand for the 02M box's.

Like Driveshafts, we can get of the shelf chromemoly ones with custom hubs for Haldex 02M setups but not for the 01E supply and demand rules in business unfortunately.

Audi S4 B5 with 700bhp, Full Race car...

I had sorted out a price/ratios with Petr and was planning to order in the next few weeks. It has been 3 months since we spoke and he was aware of the time delay. I hope everything is ok.

Lil info regarding SQS. They were moving premises at one point hence their communication breakdown. In the meanwhile we just fitted a Dog 02M box to my mates mk2 1.8t monster. Damn does that thing shift hard and fast! However be prepared for the noise as it drown out his straight through 4" system to the extend its almost laughable.

I also know someone that fitted the SQS seqshift to a qauife 02M dog box and it would crunch the gears. The u.it was passed onto another 02M owner this time with the SQS dog box. Never crunched a gear.

As for elite transmissions what a joke they are. They made us custom driveshafts rated at 500hp a corner, yep 2000hp total. We twisted 2 of them in one season on 756hp. When we tried to get material spec to see how we could try and make it stronger they couldn't tell us.

Thats a bit crap of Elite not to know that, I do know several people who use Elite gearboxes and ANY problems they may of had were sorted immediately, these are big power cars as well but obviously 2wd.

I know one person running over 700hp on one of their dog gearkits in a 4wd box and so far they have been ok, thats several 10 second passes and 200mph runs now, the dogs apparently wear easier than some manufacturers but for the price they aren't that bad, nothing is indestructable and atleast they are the right side of the water if you do experience any issues. I'd be very reluctant to use anyone oversees with anything even slightly experimental as it could be a LOT of hassle to sort if you have any issues.

Their are some very good shaft manufacturers about, Elite by far are the cheapest. A friend of mine runs some hollow shafts from a Uk supplier, they are uber light but cost a fair bit too.

10 second passes are not 200mph....

unless these 200mph runs are top speed? or 7 second 1/4 mile passes?

also, have been watching the PAR dogbox kit for quite some time. waiting for the AUD to drop some....

10 second 1/4 mile passes and 200mph top speed runs. The car is also used at TOTB and Time Attack as well as monthly sprint meetings.

I'm not saying its the best available, it is however supplied in the UK which is more likely to suit us better than one made oversees.

Apart from whats been said above above about the driveshaft issues with Elite I have to say that everyone I talk to has had nothing but amazing customer care from Elite.

i have the SSS DRives sequential shifter for my PAR dogbox. SQS just reseller of the SSS Drives unit, it is not made by them.

i used it for a bit and went back to H-pattern, mostly for the ability to go straight to neutral or at the end of a run go back to 1st without going down thru all the gears.

i would sell it if someone is interested. i paid ~$2900 USD, and would sell it for lots less as i never plan to use it again. Dogbox gearset or complete trans as well. i am building a new RWD car and these are not part of the new build.
