a little help with the Euro family album on rear axles.

I have a copy of the Euro family album, but just need to make sure and understand what I am reading.

On the rear half shafts, outer half shaft part number is 893-498-099G.
This part number includes the half shaft, outer CV joint, boot etc.?

This part number is the same for all coupes, both 7A, 3B, ABY, etc., with out the inner CV?

The only difference in the inner CV is the 100mm 7A vs. the 108mm S2?

The reason for asking is I want to change the inner CV joint to 108mm and just want to make sure the out portions of the axles are the same between the 7A coupe and the S2.

    TIA,
    Greg W.

From memory, I think you're observations are right. My FA is being reinstalled right now so I hope to confirm this for you shortly.

I can only find 893 498 099 GX which is for the 10v engines. 893 498 099 PX is listed for 7A, 3B and ABY. This includes the shaft and outer CV plus assembly parts.

You're correct, it is only the inner CV that differs. The 3B/ABY item is 431 498 103 CX, the 7A items is 893 498 103 X

      Shaft length isn't quoted.

Don't forget the importance of the X in the part number.

X denotes exchange doesn't it? That could be tricky. Can you omit the X from the number if you want to order without offering an exchange or...?

I'm not sure if you can just drop the X. That could be a question for the Daddy.

              Thanks,
I could have gotten the suffix a little off. As long as the half shaft and outer CV are the same I can deal with the inner CV joint.

The main reason for asking this, is the 7a coupes we got in the states, are only 100mm flanges on the diff, and I am going to be using the 108mm flanges from the V8 when I switch out the torsen. I can use the inner CVs from a UrS4/6, which are the same part number as the S2 inner CV, as we did not get the S2.

At least this way I know the splines on the half shaft are the same for both the 100mm and 108mm CVs.

              Thanks again,
              Greg W.
