    Sachs Vs Luk

The last thing you want on your car is an Luk item.
I spoke to both Kim at QST and also Keith at Dialynx,
and they both assured me for power of 400+ bhp
and 400+lbft torgue, a standard new clutch should cope
    Just fine.
Qst is running a car with 500 bhp on the standard clutch
a kim pointed out. But if you have money burning a hole in your
Wallet , it will cost you 1100+vat for a paddle item.
Keith at dialynx was alot more helpfull and insisted on
only fit a sachs clutch kit i.e pressure plate, friction plate
and release bearing as acomplete new set.
Dialynx can sell you an uprated sachs kit for 400+vat(600 bhp)
Which he said would handle anything you throw at it
Or a racing paddle clutch for 500+vat (800 bhp territory)

The bottom line is Both QST and DIALYNX recommend Sachs Clutches
No ifs ,No buts. Some companies like ECP will tell that sachs and luk
are the same item in different boxes --Bull***t.
I rang Sachs uk and spoke to technical and they assured me they
Have nothing to do with Luk. All sachs items come from Germany
with a 1-3 day waiting time so its not an on the shelf item.
Be weiry of any " we have one in stock" clutch as Sachs uk dont show
    one in the country.
    PRICES:
    Standard Sachs clutch kit: PN 3000 951 729 £136.37+vat
    240mm diameter , number of teeth 23
(old clutch kit no was; 4000 694 001)

Sachs Competition pressure plate: PN 883082 999 724
    £ 219.73+vat
Sachs Competition sinister disk: PN 1861 999 802(550 nm)
    1861 999 820(600 nm)
    £ 168.11+vat

This are the best prices i could find.
Group Purchase perhaps???? think of the discounts we could get!!1

Dialynx (keith) surgessted a single mass flywheel from a 5 speed s2
for the "Die Hard" power freeks. Aparrently the Dual mass flywheel
robs alot of power and torque. flywheels rerely wear down and dont
      need machining

        sachs part numbers

        hi Charlie
I am in the search for a new clutch set. I have found Pn 883082999724 in the sachs racing catalog to be a good choice but didn't know the price for that so thanks for the info. That is for prssure plate-clutch right? Don't we also need PN 3151822032 which is the release bearing? ( If my english are correct). Do you know the pric for it? I will keep on searching and posting the results for a clutch to unleash the power for hard launches.... Thanks for the info. I might be interested for a groub buy fo a single mass flywheel and the above set clutch+release bearing. MTM has a set of single mass - clutch do you happen to know how much they sll it for?

As far as i know a second hand 3b clutch will fit straight on. It will
help the engine rev alot freely bit i think their are 3 downsides
          1) mass x speed = momentum =torque curied by flywheel
          2) you might need to get crank shaft re-balanced
3)engine feedback trough gearbox i.e vibration

The release bearing is a standard item with no modifications
          I hope this helps

What alot of people dont realise is that the 5zyl was initially
designed as a desiel engine, slow revving, high torgue but
adapted to petrol as informed by vagsport.

You can mate a diesel block with a aby/adu head for some
            SERIOUS TORQUE.
