If i use a dual mass flywheel from an ABY on my 3b engine the gearbox wont fit. Why?

The dual mass flywheel is thicker than the ABY equivalent. By about 10mm I think... you'd need the spacer from an ABY 'box to make it fit. I've just done the opposite - fitted the 3B (lighter) flywheel to my ABY so may have a spare spacer there, if such a thing is required... not sure if it'll fit the 3B box though?
I'm sure if anyone else has made this swap they can suggest any other possible issues?
