AAN, NG flywheel, AAN clutch, s2 3B gearbox

As the title says I have an AAN engine trying to fit it in an s2 3B with original 5 speed gearbox. Now I don't have the distance plate and I don't like the dual mass flywheel. In the garage is laying around one NG flywheel that normaly fits to crankshaft. The only diference to any other is a small pin that is used for the CKP (cranckshaft position)sensor that can be manufactured easy. I read in all topics that the AAN clutch has to be changed if converting to one mass flywheel. Is that only besause there is no dumpening efect of the dual mass or is there other problem? And even if I would want to fit the dual mass flywheel I cannot do it without a distance plate right?

Your NG flywheel is from quattro or not? I mean has it 240mm clutch plate area or not. If it has (if not, the answer is NO), then you can try to measure fitments, but usually when one changes flywheel, he changes all package - clutch disk and clutch plate. Sometimes even pressure bearing and pushing fork needs to be changed. So I thing answer is "NOT, it will not fit". However this is theory, you can try to measure how things look in practice .

It is not out of quattro but it doesnt make amy diferece. The diameter of clutch disc is the same. In what case the bearing and forks should be changed? Since the diameter is ok and the clutch disc fits the flywheel and the gearbox shaft too there is only a question what is the diference in a push plate.

          OK I cleared the issue:

NG flywheel should be modified a bit. You have to take away some material to make room for the pin for the CKP sensor. The clutch fits no problem. Pushplate and disc have same diameter on AAN ABY 3B NG. If you fit the AAN and NG flywheel no modifications has to be done to clutch cylinder. Yust curious: does anyone have a photo of a 3B flywheel. Did the people who changed the dualmas for a 3B, have to modify the flywheel or it is a bolt on procedure?

NG FW has no timing pin. I think your after a 7A FW as it does have the timing pin and can fit the bigger dia. clutch disc.

Aha cool didnt know that. I'll use this one for a year, to colect some money for ˝a small˝ upgrade when I take out the engine again.

Can anyone mesure the diameter od a transmision shaft (the one that the clutch uses to turn the transmision) on the place that bearing of a flywheel sits on, and the inner diameter of an original bearing? Both from a 3B. Thinking that the diameter diference is too big. Thanks!
