From looking at the pics, you all are running ceramic clutches!?
They only last may be ten races in a race car! no traffic work there, they are not designed to slip on take off. more of a switch, on or off.
No way would I run such a set up on a road car!
You need a twin plate organic. Anyone tried Mcleod in the states, I have one for my Mustang, twin plate, can deal with 1000 bhp and is organic.

MOst of the racing sportscars I run/prepare try to keep to an organic, the pain of ceramic is just not worth it. All the dust sticks like cement to the input shaft, stops the plate moving as it should.
Just a NO NO on the road.
Well, thats very interesting! Can you suggest a clutch for the 3B flywheel?
Incidentally my Spec 3+ seems to have bedded in nicely now, its even fairly smooth on takeup. At least its a continuous ring and not a paddle.. I would far prefer an more normal feeling clutch next time though and if an organic can be made to take the torque then thats what I want.

That is what I got now, it doesn’t slip at all, and Andy was very helpful. Thanks South Bend.

I've been hearing good things about South Bend Clutches on Audi-Sport.net - anyone had any experience of the DXD 'Organic / Feramic' clutches?

    Yah

That is what I think, on a street with fidanza fly., every take of steal insert gets hot starts to warp etc.
SPEC is stating 3 and 3plus is the best setup for street, long lasting etc. (Hate Layers) Every time I called them after they product failed they answer was try this another stage setup it will cost you another 700$

Spec gave me mixed feelings over the years. In the black coupe the spec stage 3 hold out to the very last day i drove it. No problem there what-so-ever
In the blue coupe it slipped almost instantly with a 3+ kit. Spec claims that they send the wrong plate, it would be to thin....
I've just installed a spec 3+ on an RS4 and including this one all the spec clutchs I have had/driven, have yerky take off characteristics. Now I'm at point to decide about a new clutch, and i have hard feelings about spec....

That is the case, my SPEC stage 3 failed at 340WTQ, that is 425FTQ SPEC was rating that clutch at 460FTQ clutch was driven for only (1800 miles witch I did put on in a less then 6 weeks) no warranty.
That Engine did get blown up by unprofessional tuner …
Build another one a lot of help from 034, thanks. SPEC sold me an stage 3 plus rated at 630FTQ, I did go easy on that clutch for 1800 miles with 450FTQ braking in build engine ETC. It did hold up on a dyno with 584FTQ, soonest I did hit the street freewheeling. NO WARRANTY 3 days over time limit warranty. WTF

034 rs4 clutch kit, what supposed to hold 500hp. Only chipped rs4, slipped from day one. Spec said it is overheated! Yeah right, it didn' t hold power from day one, even after 2000km correct break in!

I had also in my s2 stage 3, witch failed (slipped) after gt30r install and 2bar of boost.

My 3 plus spec clutch didnt last much longer as well, for the record 034 did refund me for it - when i bought a spec 5 but then ther was the issue of the whole clutch kit being incorrect/not suitable which i did NOT get any compensation for.
