Rear crankshaft oil seal

Hi guys,

The FA says you can only get the entire unit including alloy housing, for about £80.

Im just after the seal.

Does anyone know where i can get one, or what size it is?

I got one I believe it is from a VR6 originally. I will ask my parts supplier for the part number tomorrow if I remember

The part is no longer available according the the family album.

If you know the size then i could get one made!

The VR6 one is 105x85x12 but like I said I would need to check

they are available,not sure where from in the uk but are cheap as fook from here,and they are reinz!.

although at first it appears they will charge you £35 for delivery i have heard if you contact them they will sort out a more realistic price.

85x105x12 is right one. Same seal is fitted almost all older v.a.g diesel and petrol engines.

Yeh you need one of these Andy, may be a squeeze to get it in though.

068 198 171 retail is around £26.81 + VAT

They don't show them on the block diagrams bizarrely. It's listed in the gasket ste for cylinder block which is shown in repair kits (section 1-98)

I used a mk2 golf seal a few years ago on my AAN car. I found that most watercooled VW and Audi models share the same seal. I also have found that there is are price differences too.
