rear diff lock

A friend of mine has this issue with his RS2.
As soon as the car hits the boost area on his turbo,the rear diff locks up and the car is driven with it locked!!
He tried to see if the hoses were plced wrongly,but had no luck.When he reversed them the diff would be locked all the time.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a non return valve has failed as the acctuator is locked by vac not boost.

I'm sure there will be some btdt on the forum.

Thats unusual alright - do a search for the vacuum tree on ABY - same as RS2.

There is indeed a 1-way valve under the rear seat to make sure the difflock controller is only EVER presented with vacuum. Either its been bodged by someone or that valve has failed - never tested to see the effect of boost into the difflock mechanism.
