@ Skull - yep I agree, there is not much chance of doing this for less than a new stock linkage

...but the coupling on my version is a military spec universal joint, and even a new stock coupling has flex in the fore-aft motion (used in all up and down shifting) and with age gets more torsional flex (all cross-gate shifts)

...this will have no flex at all in either case. The couplings are frequently used for steering on single seaters, as well as gearshifts on older race cars, so they should be up to the job.

Let me see if I can find some machining firms to do the upgrade bushes and the timed holes for the couplings, and then either offer the option of a kit for customers to weld themselves (full instructions and drawings included) or whether it would be better to offer a send/return or even an exchange service.

I've already seen the joint in person when it was in "kit" form and is a nice joint.

Hi guys, sorry this all fell a bit flat due to the rather sudden enforced redundancy a week ago - I spoke to an independent machinist who was working in the factory as he was the cheapest known option, but sadly he has sold his machine shop and therefore wasn't able to quote me for the bushes or modifications.

I'm trying hard to promote my photography and it sort of went on the back burner, I do apologise for not keeping everyone informed.

I will see if I can get some quotes from alternative machine shops. I have managed to procure a couple more UJs so there is potential to make one or two of these items, but they will not be cheap.

If you can bear with me for a little longer I will do my best to arrange something!
