    Quaife ATB / Torsen

I have a problem - but its on a mkii escort rear axle
just fitted a quaife automatic torque biasing diff (gear based diff like a torsen) and I'm not entirely sure I've got the right amount of backlash set in between the pinion and crownwheel - it may be a long shot as to whether anyone on here has ever set up an escort (english axle) diff - but as a torsen is essentially the same - I thought I'd give it a go.
Basically, I've set it up by essentially locking up the pinion/crownwheel, and then releasing the adjuster nuts by 1/12th of a turn each thus giving me ever such a small amount of backlash (approx 0.1mm).
I'm concerned that too little slack and when the diff gets warm and everything expands, I'll end up with increased wear - same applies if too loose!
Anyone got a suggestion? (apart from sell it and buy an S2 cos I already have that base covered )

We run two mk2 escorts at university, one has a few Group4 components in the rear, the other is less fruity, but has a Quaiffe iirc... I'm back up there tomorrow so can ask to see the setup sheet when it was fitted last year?
