S2 Avant Clutch Master Cylinder Problem

I'm asking this question on behalf of a friend who's having some trouble.

He's changed his clutch master cylinder and gone to bleed it but can't get any pressure behind the pedal. It's just goes straight to the floor with no resistance. He's pulled about a litre of fluid through the system but still no pressure.

Any ideas why this is happening and any possible solutions.

    Thanks in advance

I had slave out and presed it together while pedal vas out tighten the bleeding screw and relised the slave. Then I instaled slave an d puled out the pedal. It took alot of fluid but no air. It works ok.

Surely the slave shouldn't need to be removed to bleed the system.

I'm not clear what you're saying really.

Must have air in. Try jack the car up so the bleed nipple is at the hightest point on the cylinder.
Pressure bleed with an Easy bleed. Pumping at the same time.
