Heavy Creaky Clutch ABY

Why would my clutch be fairly heavy and creak (creaking coming from bellhousing area)



I expected the clutch to be a bit heavier than before the conversion, but this is really quite heavy.

I am using ABY Master and slave, ABY DM flywheel. And i have no idea what clutch is in it?? The donor car was fairly standard so i doubt it has a performance clutch.

Old clutches are heavy as hell. If you put a new OE one in then you'll not be able to drive it as it's sooooo light! Can't think of much else you can do I'm aftraid. Oh, and put a SM flywheel in there as the DM one is toss! Looking at £200 for clutch and secondhand FW.

Argh. toss!!! I was half expecting that answer.
Right, its off to the 'ring on the 14th. Ill see how i get on with it till after then, and then make a judgment.
Ill probably whip the engine out close to the end of the summer, and fit an new slave cylinder and a new clutch + SM flywheel. Balls... wish i'd done all that when the engine was out.

CQ clutch wouldnt have handled the power. I dont think anyway.

Thanks for the offer James but going to have to give it a miss, still experiencing a loss of power on all cylinders... hopefully it'll clear sooner rather than later

try bleeding the slave if its not been done before, might give it a new lease of life

Good advice but as it's all just been fitted I would assume he's just done that .

Sounds like it could be the clutch release bearing. Had the same symptoms on my 10V coupe, can you hear a slight werring noise when engaging and disengaging the clutch?
