1.3lt is for the long nose avant version and the 3b is about 700ml. Definately had it too full on a 3b unit at 1ltr.

Do you not fill it till it runs out the filler like most normal cars, on level ground of course

Is the diff 'dry' i.e.fully drained? try as I might I couldn't get 1ltr in....even took more with me to the Ring as i was convinced it should take more than 700ml I quoted....

Just noticed mine has a seal leak....yay

what again?? thats something like twice now you've/we've been messing with it.

think i might re-use my s2 diff save the struggle of getting that seal just right, just clean the diff up etc as afaik its going right with no noises etc.

not too sure where it is leaking from exactly but looked a bit wet down there, nothing major but definately not bone dry as it was......and one droplink has a split boot so need to sort that before MOT/ADI etc..

Ok well let me know when your thinking of doing it, if I can get up i'll come up and bring them seats with me as well and we can see what we get once they are put back together again.

AFAIK you fill it until its level with the filler plug as Señor Casey said

Sure the breather on top of the diff isn't blocked David? Excess pressure might be causing the seals to weep?

Peter - if theres one part of your car that ain't right its your rear diff
