The rear suspension of a 2WD is completely different to Q, no rear subframe if I remember rightly, plus you need so many parts including hubs, diff, driveshafts, struts, subframe, prop, etc etc..... it's definately a lot of work and far easier and cheaper to buy a Q.

If your planning to convert a coupe or a saloon it makes more sense to look for a
quattro version of either, butttt if you are thinking about making a quattro cabriolet
(nice idea) then have a look for a 428hp quattro cabriolet built by/for Kim collins
at QST, like all cabriolet's it starts life as 2wd fwd.

Pretty labor intense build over on Motorgeek. I believe the guys name is Keith, and he really did a great job on the car.

Sorry if the pics dont show up, but anway.... Started this project last fall under protest... I didn't want to do it, the boss did. I knew damned well it was going to be a hassle from the beginning. First off, I had never worked on a Cabrio, so I wasnt familiar with its "unique" construction...

Take a gander over there, it has pretty much all the information you need to make the swap. of course we only had the cab with the 12v 2.8, and I would want to swap in a 20vt... Very cool though, and would be even better if I was a convertable type of guy

there is a guy in audifans who is looking into this for the B4 fwd to quattro and so far discovered that all bolts to mount the rear quattro suspension are already there on the chassis. He would need the quattro fuel tank as well, but he reckons it is doable. He has both B4(fwd and quattro) and he will be taking them on a lift for further investigation

I am sure is the same...because i have used the rear from an s2 coupe in my car and all the welding points lined up perfect. And is a diference off 6 years between them.
              Was a pleasant supprise..

Kindof getting off topic, but you are saying that you used s2 parts to convert your coupe gt into a coupe quattro(type 85)? So you just welded in the subframe mounts, and suspension points, and put in a subframe from an s2? Very neat.

There are plenty on ebay if you have a look. It all depends which engine you want it to come with

Or is just a shell you want? As i have 2 going spare....
