    dual mass or not?

i am just about to fit the engine back in the ur together with a spec paddle clutch..was thinking weather or not to keep the dual mass flywheel on or not?i know the dual mass was fitted to stop torque spikes, but will it still be ok with the grabbing force of the paddle clutch?if not which flywheel is used?7a?and does this have all the right sensor points in the right places?
fast replys needed please as i am now waiting again

I know 3B is a straight bolt-on job... Dunno about 7A unfort - would need to dig up info on the pins.

Crank ref must be 62 BTDC on #1 and there must be 135 flywheel teeth to keep an S2 ECU happy !

I was told that the 7A is compatible and is a little heavier than the 3B item. This was when I was researching my SM conversion. Don't use the DM, SM is a lot more responsive and makes the car feel quicker with some vibrations too

DM will be OK - but check the dampers and springs on the DM flywheel are OK before fitting again.

Main advantage of SM version is lighter weight ==> quicker acceleration due to reduced rotating mass. Downside as Andy said is potential for some vibrations - gives the car a less refined feel. Trade offs again !

Are you running the UR box or S2? If UR you can use the flywheel off your 10valve engine. Thats how mine is, much better than dual mass bobbins!

Diagrams are on S2 central alright - no probs - fill your boots

Ask me anything on those that you are unsure about... Be advised the looms make reference to the B3/B4 fusebox locations which I expect will be different on a B2 machine... Double check all of these first - hooking up to the wrong fusebox pins could be the start of a really bad day !
