    Transmission and clutch advice

I have a fully built 20vt in a 4kq that i am swapping into my '90 QC. The 4kq trans and rear diff are in much better shape than my current QC trans & diff. Its an '84 rear diff (big flanges) with the newer 3.89? gears in it. I thought i remember hearing the 016 trans was stronger than a QC trans, true?..

Will the smaller flanges bolt into the early 4kq rear diff?

Will the 4kq diff bolt in the QC subframe and other stuff?

Is the '84 4kq shifter a drop in (or can be made to work fairly easily) in a QC?

I can fab brackets and stuff if i need to, its no problem.

The other way i was thinking was to rebuild my rear diff, resurface the 7A flywheel, and get a clutch. And maybe find a transmission in better shape.

I HATE spec clutches so its not an option. Ive had a few fail on customers in different ways. They never did anything to help out.

I have had very good luck with clutchnet. They seem to like to get a bit carried away with what you need tho. The most my current turbo will make is 600hp. I think i will keep it around 500 so i can hopefully keep a transmission in it.

So anyone with a clutchnet or other respectable setup, could you post your hp and what disc/pressureplate/flywheel you have and how drivable it is?

    Thanks.

Ok, found out most of the info about swapping the 016 trans.

    Things i didnt find anywhere:

Will a 4000Q ('84 w/big flanges but r&p swapped to a 3.89:1 - the trans is 3.89 too) rear diff bolt up in place in a 1990 Coupe?

Is the driveshaft length an issue?

What rear axle flanges do i need to make the 4k rear diff play nice with the '90 coupe rear axles?
