        UPDATE:

I installed the linkage, but because I'm installing the euro-CGR O1e into a US Coupe, I've encountered a problem....the procon ten brackets on US Coupes are a different part number (and most importantly, SIZE) than the S2 version. So, I'm getting the shift linkage bumping into the bracket. Because of this, I'm going to be removing procon ten from my car, under the advice of many of the other US Coupe/S2 conversions here in the US. (I'll be using a Schroth Quick Fit harness, because I'm paranoid about safety.)

I do know that Jason at JHM Motorsport is looking for a European volunteer to be a tester for the shift linkage. If you have an R/S2 off the road, or can take the down time for sending him your tired linkage, you should contact him.

The prototype that he built for me is excellent, as you can see from the pictures.

            Still very keen,

but mine is in daily use so can't be the tester.

            Kind regards.

just remembered about this topic, the linkage i have for my new 01E is worn to peices there is play in every joint and its just generally knackered so i just sent JHM an email saying they are welcome to my linkage, guess i'll be sticking to only 5 gears for a while longer.... still takes a whole load of jobs off my list of things to do lol

Still here! I check S2Forum probably everyday, but somehow missed the last couple of posts.

I have moved the car to a new shop (Imola Motorsports in Minneapolis), and have been working on it one day a week for the past couple of months. First thing we did when getting it upon the lift was to remove the procon ten bracket that the linkage was hitting.

We are still working on the engine bay (sorting the wiring, just bolted up the turbo, wastegate, and downpipe), so haven't gotten to the shifter yet. However, just moving the shift lever by hand, everything feels like it's in good working order.

I'll post a couple of pics of the linkage with the procon ten bracket interference, before we took it out. We left the procon ten cables in. I may look at those part numbers again, and ask one of you guys if you can find me an S2 bracket.

                      First:

                      Second:

Third: (bumps US Coupe procon ten bracket - this is a difference p/n from the Euro S2 bracket!)

                      Reverse:

Now the bracket is out, and the shifter moves freely.

                            Guys,

We just turned the key on the S2 conversion last week. We're in the final few weeks/months of getting it finished. Had to modify the clutch lines, etc. on the US Coupe.

So...I can't yet say that I've sailed down the road, and stirred through the gearbox. We still have to do some more work. I will update when we get rolling.

Also...I won't be running the JHM short shifter or the OEM-ish short shifter. We're just going to rebuild the normal S2 shifter. It feels like the JHM linkage and the stock shifter are going to be the best combination.
