Heh, have You ever tried to drive a car with center diff locked? It -You know, "kinda" understeers.

And yes, I think price for ferguson rehauls must not have been that big deal, considering, it was works racing division, that used them.

Ferguson does not fit into normal transmission. It is bigger than our torsens. Fits only into the IMSA trannies.

We use solid center torsen on quarter, where understeering is not that much of an issue.

Mmm yeah - but the UR rally cars ran locked centre - I'm sure of that... isn't the understeer from that dialled out by a much stiffer rear ?

to drive a car with locked center diff you have to be much more aggresive. and go sideways around corners. or with a slight skid. daily driving i think can be quite risky.

Yes, if You drive it normally, it understeers, if You get aggressive, it oversteers. But not golden middle.

Albert has a circuit racer, so I am talking about circuit racing, and applications for that.

Of course You all realize, drifting is not the fastest way to go around a circuit.

This is Quife ATB Torsen diff, similar to V8 diff I already have.

Yup the off the shelf ATB diffs are like Torsens in operation, but have you asked them for a "real" LSD?

I was up at quaife a couple of weeks ago, and yes they can build you anything, but it will cost you! Though the other thing is they are unlikley to do it unless they see a demand for more of them as the development cost would be prohibative. I know of a few guys from different car clubs that when Quaife turned them down they negotiated with quaife to have 20 done, baisically a group buy, and then they agreed to do them. The good thing is that they will give you the sole rights as the distributer for them if you negotiate.

The only problems I see with plate diffs is that they are difficult to set up, by the time you have the plate pressures where you want them, track conditions or other factors like the heat in the diff etc have changed and it wont drive well. There is only the smallest window to get the diff working sweetly.
I agree with Paul in the fact that use good torsen/ATB diffs which are predictable and have the chassis tuneable rather than the diffs.

I agree with Albert, torsen is NOT for racing, unless it's a center diff.

Driving with torsen in the front made my car very uneasy. Although I admit, it was quite a powerful front wheel drive. On street it was nice, but oh my god, if You hit the curb on track. It was impossible to know where it pulled when the inner tyre hit the pavement.

The LSD for the rear is available. It is for Audi S4 2.7T but it can be fitted to S2 with some modifications.

The price is around 1070 euro.

Also available front S2 6 gear LSD

You can write to info@re5pect.pl with any questions.
